Hanging Bird Houses
Hanging bird houses are houses which are designed to be suspended from above. Most people hang these bird houses from a tree branch or deck awning. Hanging your birdhouse in a tree gives the birds a greater feeling of security and cover. Be sure to look for branches that will not be readily accessible to predators. Raccoons, snakes, cats, fire ants, opossums and other predators have easy access to and often raid the nest in bird houses mounted on wooden posts. Properly hanging your bird house will encourage wild birds to nest in your yard.
