Bird houses encourage wild birds to nest in your yard. Nesting birds provide endless pleasure, a chance to enjoy watching and learning the different species of birds, as well as a symphony of bird songs for you to enjoy all day long.

There are many types of bird houses, and it is important that you know which type of birds inhabit your area before purchasing one. Many bird species will nest in a bird house, including Bluebirds, Cardinals, Purple Martins, Chickadees, Wrens, Sparrows and Finches, but some do not. Once you know which types of birds you are likely to attract, then you can decide which style of birdhouse to purchase. Remember, birds make nests to lay their eggs from early spring through the summer, so allow plenty of time for the birds to find your new bird house.
