We are so happy with this stove, my father installed a propane stove similar to ours (for quite a bit more money) and he was quite impressed. He wished he had the Dimplex stove and saved some $$$!

As for the appearance of the electric stove, it is wonderful. GREAT "real fire" effects. However, I purchased the heater more for heating than looks. I have a medium sized room that I try to heat and it barely keeps the room at 58 degrees. I would expect a heater to do much better than that.
