Dan W. from Albuquerque, NMThe cast iron griddle is smooth on one side, and has ridges on the other side (which is not clear from the pictures or text). I seasoned the griddle before using it, and it is working out perfectly. New York Strip steaks turn out great, with a nice browned look with grill marks when cooked on the ridged side of the griddle. Steaks turn out better when cooked on the griddle than on the normal grill surface.
I recommend this griddle highly, as it adds much more functionality to the city grill.
Potential drawbacks depending on your situation are:
The cast iron griddle is smaller than the the overall City grill wired grill cooking surface, so it works better for smaller quantities of food.
The cast iron holds a lot of heat, so make sure you have time for it to cool down if you need to transport it after cooking. |
